Welcome to Going Places. This project was completed in December 2017. It focused on researching good practice in international student exchange, with an emphasis on social work education. Funded by the Australian Office of Learning and Teaching, the project was led by researchers at James Cook University in partnership with Queensland University of Technology, Australia, De Paul Institute of Science and Technology, India and Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, Thailand. We have documented, analysed, developed and disseminated exemplary practices in international social work student exchange, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific. A fuller description of the research project and process can be found in the “The Project” section of this site.
The findings of the research project are available through this website in the form of a set of “Ethical Practice Principles” for international student exchange. We have also developed a set of “Principles In Action” which looks at how these ethical principles might be usefully applied and includes some practical resources.
